Locum GP — Panel Position

Dublin City Centre · Swords · Cherrywood | Ad hoc / Flexible Cover

Laya Healthcare and Webdoctor are building a panel of experienced locum GPs to provide flexible cover across our three Dublin clinics. This is an excellent opportunity for GPs seeking varied, well-supported sessions in modern, fully equipped clinic environments.

The role

As a panel locum, you will provide seamless in-person GP cover at short notice, delivering the same high standard of care our permanent clinicians offer. You will be supported by a Practice Secretaries at each site and will have access to integrated clinical systems from day one.


Key responsibilities

  • Deliver general medical consultations across a broad range of presentations
  • Ensure safe, continuous patient care during cover periods, including appropriate handovers to the permanent team
  • Collaborate effectively with on-site Practice team
  • Adhere to clinic protocols, national guidelines, and relevant clinical governance standards
  • Engage with digital systems including video consultation platforms where required

Essential requirements

  • Specialist registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) + 1 year’s experience, or General registration + 3 years’ local GP experience
  • Full right to work in Ireland
  • Strong clinical acumen across a broad range of presentations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to cover sessions across any of the three Dublin clinic locations
  • Up-to-date knowledge of medical best practices and national guidelines

Desirable

  • Previous locum experience in a private or mixed-practice setting
  • Familiarity with digital health or video consultation platforms
  • Interest in specialist areas or chronic disease management

Joining the panel

Panel GPs are engaged on a sessional basis and will be contacted as cover needs arise. We welcome applications from GPs seeking either occasional or regular sessions.
