Group Accountant

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to play an influential role and gain invaluable experience in financial reporting in an award winning, ambitious team.

Depending on experience, the individual will play a key role in:

  • The preparation and consolidation of monthly management accounts for the portfolio
  • The production and presentation of year-end statutory accounts across multiple jurisdictions
  • Ownership of Central Office company accounts to trial balance providing insight and knowledge through the preparation of budgets and monthly reforecasting
  • Research, analysis and application of technical standards/guidance as queries/issues arise, in particular with new standards and as the company grows
  • Liaising with the treasury team on banking related processes
  • Reviewing existing processes and participation in ad hoc projects to deliver a more efficient and effective service.
  • The implementation of new systems/processes as the department integrates with its plc parent
  • Liaising with various departments including Company Secretarial, Development, Tax and Financial Planning and Analysis to deliver cross functional projects as appropriat

Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Attitude Required for the Role:

  • Be a qualified accountant with excellent academics
  • Have financial reporting and/or auditing experience in listed entities, multinationals or large corporates.
  • Must have experience managing and supporting more junior team members.
  • Will have good technical knowledge in IFRS, with the ability to interpret the implications of standards for practical situations.
  • Must be a strong team player with demonstrated experience supporting, challenging and influencing colleagues at all levels
  • Must be engaging, enthusiastic and confident with a natural focus on quality, accuracy and continuous improvement
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have demonstrated an ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Able to demonstrate their planning and organisation skills, ability to multi-task, plan and prioritise work
  • Must be a strong team player who can support, challenge and influence colleagues at all levels
  • Naturally wants to develop and grow and assist others around them to do the same
