Day to day, you'll play a key part in the preparation, analysis and review of financial reporting processes — covering monthly group reporting, regulatory reporting and statutory reporting. It's an ideal role for a qualified accountant who wants to sharpen their technical expertise in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supporting the technical accounting and reconciliation of inputs from various operating systems into the general ledger and sub-ledgers (SAP)
- Reviewing and analysing data flows between operating systems and the integration of that data
- Preparing management accounts and reports, with analysis of variances and trends
- Preparing and delivering presentations to senior management
- Preparing statutory financial statements
- Co-ordinating statutory and internal audit processes and engaging with external auditors
- Reviewing and monitoring the company's investment portfolio, ensuring month-end investment closing processes are completed accurately
- Supporting the planning and budgeting cycles
- Identifying and implementing financial system and process improvements
- Taking part in ad-hoc financial projects as required
- Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred)
- At least 2 years' PQE, ideally within financial services
- Excellent technical accounting background — IFRS 17 experience an advantage
- Advanced Excel and comfort working with large data sets
- Solvency II reporting experience an advantage
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work to strict reporting deadlines and manage competing priorities
