Cocoon Childcare is a growing Early Years organisation committed to providing high-quality care and education for children while supporting our teams to thrive.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Area Support Manager to join our Operations team and provide support across a number of our childcare services.

The Role

As an Area Support Manager, you will work closely with Service Managers and the wider Operations team to ensure our services operate effectively and consistently to a high standard.

This is a varied and hands-on role, supporting managers across multiple locations and stepping in to provide leadership, guidance and operational support when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support and guidance to Managers across multiple childcare services.
  • Support Managers with the day-to-day running of their services.
  • Work closely with Managers to identify operational challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Support the achievement of occupancy, staffing and operational targets.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and retention of high-quality childcare professionals.
  • Assist Managers with staff planning, performance management and employee relations matters.
  • Promote consistent policies, procedures and best practice across all services.
  • Support compliance with Tusla, DCDE and relevant Early Years legislation and regulations.
  • Conduct service visits and provide feedback, guidance and practical support.
  • Support Managers in maintaining high standards of quality, safeguarding, health and safety and customer service.
  • Work collaboratively with HR, Recruitment and other support departments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and the development of our services.
  • Provide additional support to the Operations team during periods of change, growth or increased demand.

About You

We are looking for someone who is an experienced Early Years professional with strong operational and leadership experience.

You will ideally have:

  • A degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Significant experience working within the Early Years sector.
  • Previous experience in a multi-site/area support role.
  • Strong knowledge of childcare operations, compliance and best practice.
  • Experience supporting and developing Managers and teams.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently while also being an effective member of a wider team.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach.
  • The flexibility to travel between Cocoon services as required.
  • A full driving licence
