Graduate Engineer - Automated Inspection Systems - Biotech - Dublin/Hybrid

Our client is a global biopharmaceutical leader operating advanced commercial automated syringe inspection, vial inspection, autoinjector assembly, and robotic packaging lines in Ireland.

The Junior Engineer (Technical Training & Digital Capability Coordinator) is required to support the development and implementation of technical training for Engineering and Maintenance personnel across high-speed automated equipment.

Based on a hybrid/onsite schedule (minimum 3-4 days onsite per week to align with site shift patterns and equipment hands-on needs), this early-career engineer will take ownership of technical training programs, drive technician digital capability (PlantPulse adoption), and introduce approved AI tools to optimize equipment troubleshooting and reliability.

Develop a detailed technical understanding of automated syringe inspection, vial inspection, autoinjector assembly, machine vision, and robotic packaging systems

Review existing and vendor-supplied technical training documentation, identifying opportunities to improve structure, content, and delivery effectiveness

Work alongside System Owners, Maintenance Managers, Engineers, Technicians, and equipment vendors to create structured, practical training programs

Coordinate the rollout of technical training programs across Engineering and Maintenance personnel across four operational shifts

Coordinate the rollout of the Technician Electrical Training program across the site maintenance organization

Support and drive adoption of PlantPulse within the technician group, leveraging real-time equipment data for condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and reliability enhancement

Identify practical opportunities to apply approved AI tools to support engineering activities, technical analysis, reporting, and knowledge-sharing

Develop guidance manuals and deliver introductory training on approved AI tools for engineering and maintenance staff

Develop and maintain project plans, action tracking logs, training metrics, and progress reports for engineering leadership

Design competency assessments and gather feedback to continuously improve training framework effectiveness

Requirements

Level 8 Bachelor’s Degree (BSc Honours) in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronic, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Graduate / Early Career Engineer with up to 1–2 years' experience (internship, placement, or co-op experience counts) in a pharmaceutical, medical device, or high-tech manufacturing environment

Strong technical curiosity with exposure to automated manufacturing equipment, PLCs, robotics, machine vision, or electrical systems

Interest in digitalization, AI applications, data analytics, and equipment reliability in manufacturing

Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills with the confidence to interact with technicians, vendors, and engineering managers

Familiarity with cGMP manufacturing principles is an advantage

Package

Hourly Rate €30 - €32 per hour depending on experience

Initial 12 month contract duration with strong opportunity for extension and career growth

Onsite Expectations: 3-4 days per week onsite minimum (with 1-2 days flexibility for remote/admin work)
