We are currently hiring an EHS Engineer to support a very high-profile medical device client in Co. Westmeath.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support site EHS programmes, procedures and compliance systems.
  • Support compliance across a highly regulated manufacturing environment, including FDA, GMP, ISO 13485, and internal quality standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections and safety reviews.
  • Lead/support incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Support environmental compliance, waste, emissions and chemical management.
  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, facilities and quality teams.
  • Provide EHS support for equipment installs, facility upgrades and capital projects.
  • Manage contractor safety, permits to work, RAMS and inductions.
  • Maintain EHS documentation, records and audit readiness.
  • Support machine safety, ergonomics, manual handling, fire safety and emergency response.
  • Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
  • Track EHS actions, metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.

Authority:

  • You have authority to stop the job if you feel there is an unsafe work practice which could result in a risk of injury, have an environmental impact or risk to equipment and other personnel.
  • Carry out your duties to meet Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements at all times.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ EHS experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
  • Experience in medical device, pharma, life sciences, chemical or GMP manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish EHS legislation and environmental compliance.
  • Experience with risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
  • Contractor management and permit-to-work experience.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, engineering, facilities or capital projects.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 13485 or GMP advantageous.
  • Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills
