Senior R&D Engineer - Galway

CREGG are seeking an experienced Senior R&D Engineer to join a growing medical device company in Galway.
the successful candidate will lead end to end product design and concepts through NPI and process characterisation.

Role:
Characterise the Pump Head system elements [balloon, valves, vent length] and establish the parameters that are most influential to maximise flow while minimising deflection of the Cup/Braid.

Lead the design of the Distal Tip (requirements, ideation, prototyping/process dev, verification testing]

Manage challenge testing [performance and bonds post aging, sim ster etc]. Develop test methods and review/approve.

Lead the design and procurement of Packaging elements (tray/backing card, pouch, Carton, Shipper) of the Flow Catheter System.

Manage the external development of the Introducer with Sheath Hub at Integer, Plymouth.

Skills Required:

Understanding of fluid mechanics.
Test design & interrogation and presentation of results for decisions.

CAD/PDM.
Experience in materials selection and joining processes.

Test design & interrogation and presentation of results for decisions.
Test development experience.
Documentation approval through QMS.

CAD/PDM.
Design for thermoforming.
Knowledge of EO sterilisation process.
Design for transport and usability.

Supplier interaction and direction.
Develop the test verification.
