Salary: €70,000+ depending on experience, plus fully expensed company vehicle and benefits

About Manepa Medical

Established in 1971, Manepa Medical supplies, installs, and supports medical equipment across the public and private healthcare sectors. Our reputation is built on technical expertise, dependable service, and long-term customer relationships.

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Service Manager to lead, develop, and grow our Service and After-Sales operations.

The Role

You will take ownership of service delivery, team performance, and commercial development. A key priority will be the effective planning and scheduling of field engineers and after-sales resources, ensuring reliable customer support, strong SLA performance, and profitable service contracts.

This is an opportunity to shape an established service operation, develop its people, and drive sustainable growth. Experience working with HSE and/or NHS customers and service contracts is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead service operations: Plan and prioritise planned maintenance, reactive callouts, installations, and nationwide engineer coverage.
  • Optimise resources: Improve engineer utilisation and scheduling while controlling travel, downtime, and operating costs.
  • Develop the team: Lead, coach, and support engineers and after-sales staff, maintaining competency, certification, and training standards.
  • Manage contracts and SLAs: Own costing, pricing, negotiation, performance reviews, and renewals, ensuring contractual commitments are met while protecting margins.
  • Drive commercial growth: Increase contract retention, service agreement uptake, and recurring revenue in collaboration with Sales and Senior Management.
  • Strengthen customer relationships: Act as a senior contact for service reviews, critical issues, and escalations.
  • Support tenders: Develop service proposals, resource plans, response commitments, and costings for public and private sector opportunities.
  • Improve performance: Monitor service KPIs, customer satisfaction, and contract profitability, using data to drive improvements.
  • Maintain standards: Ensure compliance with applicable quality, regulatory, health and safety, and customer governance requirements.
  • Collaborate and report: Work with Sales and Logistics on parts availability, installations, and service handovers, providing regular operational and commercial reports to management.

About You

You combine strong people leadership and technical understanding with a practical, commercially focused approach.

Essential

  • At least five years’ experience in service management or a comparable leadership role.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical engineering background, with a relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven ability to plan, schedule, and manage field-based service teams.
  • Experience managing service contracts, SLAs, and customer accounts.
  • Strong commercial judgement and a track record of improving revenue, efficiency, or profitability.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience with medical devices or healthcare equipment.
  • Knowledge of HSE and/or NHS contracts, procurement frameworks, or healthcare estates.
  • Familiarity with public-sector tendering and compliance requirements.
  • Experience using service management and scheduling systems.
