Weltec is seeking a motivated Graduate / Trainee Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to join our team and support a variety of construction and engineering projects in the Cork area. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging EHS professional to gain hands‑on experience while working closely with the EHS Manager and collaborating with Site Project Managers across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Work collaboratively with our Client to ensure full compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and industry standards.

Prepare and review Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and other EHS documentation.

Conduct scheduled and unscheduled EHS audits, inspections, and incident investigations and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Provide ongoing advice to Project Management teams on EHS best practices, ensuring a proactive safety culture across all sites.

Plan, prepare, and deliver EHS-related training, including Toolbox Talks and site inductions as required.
-
Monitor, analyse, and report on EHS performance metrics, highlighting trends and improvement opportunities.

Support the EHS Department with administrative duties, document control, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Assist in maintaining and developing the company’s EHS Management System, ensuring policies and procedures are up to date and effectively implemented.
Key Skills and Competencies:
-
Completed or currently be undertaking a recognised qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. -
Experience in the construction sector; however, this is not essential as full training will be provided.

Experience working within pharmaceutical, medical technology, or other highly regulated environments is desirable but not required.

Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with site teams, clients, and external stakeholders.

Be proactive, adaptable, and committed to promoting a safe working environment and a customer-focused approach.

Possess strong IT skills, particularly within Microsoft Word, Excel, and general reporting tools.

Show a willingness to learn, develop professionally, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the EHS function.
