Full job description

An established and busy Cork-based solicitor's practice is seeking a motivated and experienced Legal Executive to join its team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who enjoys working independently and taking ownership of files from instruction through to conclusion.

The successful candidate will support the firm's work across Personal Injury, Probate, and Residential Conveyancing matters, while also assisting with general legal administration and client management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and progressing a caseload of Personal Injury, Probate, and Conveyancing files.
  • Taking ownership of files and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and proactively.
  • Liaising directly with clients, solicitors, barristers, medical professionals, financial institutions, and third parties.
  • Drafting correspondence, legal documents, and court-related documentation.
  • Preparing probate applications and supporting estate administration matters.
  • Assisting with residential conveyancing transactions from initial instruction through to completion.
  • Maintaining accurate file records and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal procedures.
  • Managing key dates, deadlines, and follow-up actions.
  • Providing a high level of client care and maintaining strong client relationships.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Legal Executive, Legal Secretary, or similar legal support role.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Personal Injury, Probate, and Conveyancing.
  • Ability to manage files independently and take responsibility for progressing matters.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively with minimal supervision.
