Analog Devices is going through a rapid expansion in our manufacturing plant in Limerick. Our facilities department in supporting this ramp is looking to hire apprentices as part of our maintenance. The candidates will support shift longer term but will train on days initially on the job in a number of areas while doing their apprenticeship. We are looking for young people interested in Mechanical, Electrical and Controls/Instrumentation. We have a huge array of a large plant that are mechanical systems, driven electrically and controlled by instrumentation.
An example is our air handling units that have numerous fans, motors, pumps etc. that push air and water through the unit where it is conditioned to meet the needs to the manufacturing area. The control is managed by sensors, software, PLC's etc. to feedback and control the flow, heating, cooling etc. If this appeals to you or you have a general interest in any of these areas and like working with your hands, then the Electrical Instrumentation Apprenticeship may be for you.
The Electrical Instrumentation Apprentice will undertake a four-year period of training which involves 7 phases of on-the-job training and block-release college-based learning. On completion of this four-year apprenticeship, the apprentice will become a fully qualified electrical instrumentation craftsperson, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Electrical Instrumentation.
Working as an electrical instrumentation craftsperson, the apprentice will be involved in the installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of various wiring systems and services within ADI in addition to the maintenance and repair of all instruments used in the measurement and control of process variables.
For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. As such, applicants for this position – except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) – may have to go through an export licensing review process.
