SANFI Diagnostics is a private diagnostic imaging provider based in Blanchardstown, Dublin, delivering high-quality, patient-focused ultrasound and radiology services. Our mission is to provide accessible, efficient, and clinically excellent diagnostic imaging while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and patient care.
We are establishing a modern imaging facility equipped with advanced ultrasound technology, including the GE LOGIQ E9 XDclear 2.0 ultrasound system, to provide high-quality general and specialist ultrasound examinations for patients and referring clinicians.
Role Overview
SANFI Diagnostics is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sonographer to join our expanding diagnostic imaging team. The successful candidate will independently perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations, ensuring accurate image acquisition, high-quality patient care, and adherence to Irish healthcare standards.
The role involves working closely with referring clinicians, radiologists, and the wider healthcare team to support timely and accurate diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations including:
- General abdominal ultrasound
- Pelvic ultrasound
- Renal and urinary tract ultrasound
- Thyroid and superficial structures
- Musculoskeletal ultrasound (where applicable)
- Vascular ultrasound (where qualified)
- Other examinations within scope of practice
- Operate and optimise imaging using the GE LOGIQ E9 XDclear 2.0 ultrasound system.
- Select appropriate transducers, presets, and imaging parameters to achieve optimal diagnostic images.
- Perform patient assessments, obtain relevant clinical history, and ensure appropriate patient preparation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with Irish healthcare requirements.
- Recognise abnormal findings and ensure appropriate escalation and communication with reporting clinicians.
- Work collaboratively with consultant radiologists and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with GDPR, infection prevention, and health and safety regulations.
- Participate in quality assurance, equipment checks, and continuous professional development activities.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- A recognised qualification in Medical Ultrasound / Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Professional experience working as a Sonographer in a clinical diagnostic environment.
- Experience performing independent ultrasound examinations to a high clinical standard.
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics, image optimisation, and patient safety.
- Experience using advanced ultrasound systems, ideally including the GE LOGIQ E9 / LOGIQ E9 XDclear platform.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication with patients and clinicians.
Irish Healthcare Requirements
Applicants should ideally have:
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant Irish professional body, including:
- CORU registration (Radiographers / Clinical Measurement Scientists, where applicable), or
- Evidence of appropriate recognised overseas qualifications and eligibility to practise in Ireland.
- Compliance with Irish healthcare standards and professional practice guidelines.
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
- Valid documentation demonstrating eligibility to work in Ireland.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within private diagnostic imaging services.
- Experience working with consultant radiologists and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with RIS/PACS systems and digital imaging workflows.
- Experience contributing to clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
- Additional expertise in vascular, MSK, obstetric, or specialist ultrasound examinations.
