Full job description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the site safety management with a view to attaining ISO45001.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments, JSAs (Job Safety Analysis) and safety reviews.
  • Develop and maintain Housekeeping and 6S program requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver OHS training programs to employees.
  • Drive safety culture through employee engagement and communication (site induction, toolbox talks, etc.) to ensure personnel are understanding of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Manage and maintain emergency response and security programs including fire safety, site security and business continuity planning.
  • Liaise with contractors for safe working practices, RAMs, method statements, insurance certs.
  • Liaise with consultants for specialist requirements: ATEX, chemicals, occupational noise, industrial hygiene etc.
  • Ensure that inspection records are maintained and preserved for all activities and plant equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS laws, standards, corporate policies and insurance requirements.
  • Provide OHS guidance for change management processes, including review and approval of equipment and machinery modifications and process changes.
  • Participate in pre-start up safety reviews, internal and external auditing, site safety inspections and walkdowns.
  • Achieve a series of effective EHS KPI’s for the site.
  • Support Company quality programs and initiatives.

Education / Qualifications (Desirable but not Essential)

  • Minimum Level 8 in OHS discipline from an accredited institution.

Training / Experience (Desirable but not Essential)

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in GMP production environment, preferably in medical device or pharma industry.

Skills / Attributes

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
