Full job description

We are looking for a friendly, professional and organised Medical Receptionist to join our busy private consultant practice based in a modern private clinic. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast paced healthcare enviornment.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and efficient experience while providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming patients and providing friendly reception service.
  • Managing appointments and the consultant clinic schedule.
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries.
  • Registering patients and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Processing referrals, correspondance and clinic documents.
  • Liaising with GP's, hospitals, health insurers and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assisiting with general adminisrative duties to support the consultant and practice manager.
  • Maintaining patient confidentially at all times.
  • Holiday cover for practice manager

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a receptionst or administrative role, ideally within a medical or healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • A warm, professional and patient focused approach.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using patient management systems (desirable)
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A high level of discretion and confidentiality
