Experienced medical secretary required for part time role in a busy family-run GP practice to work approximately 16-20 hours per week (plus holiday leave/cross-cover with other secretaries). We are recruiting for a long term position ideally and are looking for the right candidate to join our hardworking, friendly team.

We are a fully computerised GP practice with 2-3 doctors, practice nurse and practice manager operating out of a newly renovated practice in Churchtown.

Responsibilities and Duties

Typical GP practice medical receptionist/secretarial duties, which include (but not limited to):

Booking patients through phone/email contact.

Greeting patients and dealing with patient queries.

Taking payments from patients and processing claims.

Filing, scanning work, ensuring office stocks maintained.

Keeping office/waiting area clean and tidy.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, fluent English, excellent computer skills and be able to efficiently manage patient queries efficiently with discretion, compassion and sensitivity. Experience with healthcare software an advantage, but not essential.

Candidates without healthcare experience in Ireland will not be considered, general practice experience preferred. Practice-specific training provided. Please note, ability to be flexible cross cover hours for other reception staff is an essential part of the job in addition to core hours.
