About Us
Crumlin Childcare Centre is a friendly, home-from-home Early Years’ Service based in Dublin 12. We provide full day care for children aged from one year up to when they commence primary school. We are deeply committed to the best interests of all children, respecting their rights, needs, and interests. Our aim is to provide a safe, secure, stimulating environment which embraces children.
The Role (In-Depth Overview)
We have an exciting opportunity for a dual-focused Administration & Equal Start Family Link Worker to work closely with management in the day-to-day operation of our service. This unique role is highly flexible and interchangeable in nature, split between core office administrative systems and proactive, targeted family engagement under the national Equal Start framework. You will act as the structural backbone of our front office while simultaneously serving as an empathetic community conduit—dismantling socio-economic, linguistic, and cultural barriers to ensure every child has an equitable pathway into early education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equal Start Family Link Mandate (Engagement, Inclusion & Outreach)
· Trust & Relationship Building: Act as the primary, non-judgmental point of contact for parents and guardians, cultivating deep partnerships that reflect our "home-from-home" ethos.
· Targeted Community Outreach: Plan and execute active outreach initiatives to engage marginalized, minority, or vulnerable cohorts within the Dublin 12 area (including Traveller, Roma, and new migrant families).
· Wraparound Signposting: Identify family stressors and actively connect parents to local Family Resource Centres (FRCs), social services, language resources, and community health networks.
· Transition Pathways: Design and implement tailored, supportive transition plans for children moving from home into full day care, and onwards into primary school.
2. Office Operations, Finance & Compliance Administration
· Funding & Scheme Management: Coordinate, update, and maintain state funding schemes including the National Childcare Scheme (NCS) and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) allocations.
· Pobal Hive Literacy: Input, audit, and submit compliance data, fee profiles, and specific Equal Start tier allocations directly through the Pobal Hive platform.
· Tusla & GDPR Compliance: Manage sensitive family archives, children's developmental files, and medical/attendance registries under strict GDPR protocols and Tusla Early Years Regulations.
· Front-of-House & Operational Support: Manage daily office duties (admissions, phones, invoicing, parent billing software, greeting visitors).
· Interchangeable Team Support: Maintain strict operational agility, stepping away from the desk to provide direct, hands-on assistance in early years rooms if required to safeguard mandatory child-to-staff ratios.
Job Specification (Requirements)
Qualifications & Verifications
· Education: Minimum QQI Level 7 or Level 8 Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care, Social Care, Community Development, Youth Work, or a strictly related human services discipline.
· DCEDIY Approval: Qualification must be fully recognized on the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) approved qualifications list.
· Vetting: Successful completion of National Garda Vetting and validation of two professional references are mandatory pre-requisites.
Experience & Core Skills
· System Knowledge: Proven, hands-on experience navigating the Pobal Hive platform, uploading NCS/ECCE claims, and handling complex administrative data entry.
· Diverse Engagement: Practical experience working alongside vulnerable, socio-economically disadvantaged, or minority ethnic families in a professional capacity.
· Communication Master: Exceptional verbal and written English, paired with strong active listening skills and distinct emotional intelligence.
· Office Automation: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and specialized childcare management apps.
Benefits
· Competitive Salary: €30,940 - €35,867 gross per annum with clear scope for progression.
· Continuous Professional Development: Fully funded access to Equal Start training programs, inclusion workshops, and administrative compliance modules.
· Leave & Well-being: Paid sick leave scheme (subject to completing standard eligibility criteria) and inclusive holiday periods.
· Culture: A collaborative, mission-driven, and supportive community environment where your dual administrative and human-centric skills make a measurable societal footprint.
