Part-Time Medical Secretary
D2 Medical Centre – 4 Fitzwilliam Square East, Dublin 2
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am–2.00pm Break: 30 minutes Hours: 27.5 hours per week
D2 Medical Centre is a busy GP practice in Dublin 2 and we are looking for a reliable, professional and computer-literate Medical Secretary to join our team on a part-time basis.
This is a patient-facing role and the successful candidate will be an important part of the day-to-day running of the practice.
The role includes:
- Answering and managing a busy telephone line
- Booking, cancelling and managing patient appointments
- Dealing with patients at reception in a friendly and professional manner
- Responding to patient queries by telephone and email
- Accurate data entry and updating patient records
- Using our computerised practice management system
- General filing, scanning and administrative duties
- Supporting the doctors and other members of the practice team
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Good computer skills and confidence using different computer systems
- Excellent attention to detail
- A professional and friendly telephone manner
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to multitask in a busy GP practice
- A calm, courteous and professional approach when dealing with patients
- Previous experience in a GP practice, medical centre or medical administration is highly desirable
Computer literacy and strong English communication skills are essential for this position, as the role involves regular telephone communication, email correspondence, accurate data entry and use of computerised medical systems.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday, 8.30am\9am–2.00pm, with a 30-minute break.
These hours are ideal for someone looking for a consistent part-time position with afternoons free.
The practice is located at 4 Fitzwilliam Square East, Dublin 2. Applicants must have a reliable means of travelling to the practice and be able to consistently arrive for an 8.30 or 9am start.
