Full job description
This position is for a Multi Task Attendant (MTA) within healthcare settings, providing a broad range of support services to patients, nursing staff and other hospital departments.
The role requires someone who can work professionally and responsibly across patient care, catering, hygiene, transportation and general hospital services, while consistently following HSE policies, infection-control procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing appropriate support to patients with daily living activities under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic healthcare environment in accordance with relevant national standards and infection-control policies.
- Preparing, handling and serving food in compliance with HACCP and food-safety regulations.
- Safely transporting patients, medical records, equipment, supplies and other materials throughout the healthcare facility.
- Following all Health & Safety, manual-handling, infection-control and risk-management procedures.
- Working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Completing all mandatory training and maintaining continuous professional development.
Essential Qualifications and Training
Applicants should have:
- QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Training or certification in Manual Handling, HACCP/Food Safety, Food Preparation/Catering and Health & Safety.
- The ability to work professionally, responsibly and respectfully with patients, colleagues and healthcare professionals.
Previous experience within a hospital, nursing home, community healthcare or similar environment would be an advantage but is listed as desirable rather than essential.
