Job Title: Medical Secretary

Department: Medical Secretaries

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 39 per week


About the Hermitage Clinic

The Hermitage Clinic is a 112 bed private hospital in Lucan, West Dublin. Our specialised medical teams provide medical, surgical and advanced radiotherapy care to patients and are supported by the very latest medical technology. The Hermitage Clinic is committed to providing excellence in patient care using state-of-the-art facilities. The Clinic offers an outstanding level of expertise and cutting edge technology. We have the most advanced diagnostic imaging equipment available today, full Cardiological facilities including a Cardiac Catheterisation Suite and Clinical Laboratory services.


Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet Patients and their families arriving in the Consultant Suite, providing an excellent customer service to patients.
  • Provide an efficient, friendly and professional service to the designated area.
  • To devise and implement methods of ensuring the efficiency and quality of the administrative support to the Consultant
  • To organise and schedule the Consultant's Diaries.
  • To carry out all typing duties proficiently with particular attention to accuracy, presentation and speed.
  • To conduct all telephone communication in a professional and discreet manner
  • To ensure all patient records are accurately maintained.
  • Update and maintain the relevant hospital information systems (including Meditech, RIS/PACS as relevant)
  • Book and arrange appointments accurately for the Consultant,
  • Ensure necessary forms and paperwork are completed in relation to private health insurers.
  • Taking payments from Patients
  • Daily banking/reconciliation and ensure all invoices are raised daily for services provided.
  • Typing of reports and postage of reports in an efficient and timely manner utilising the various systems being used.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality on all aspects of patient care


Requirements:

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent
  • 2 years administration experience in a busy administrative role
  • Experience with audio dictation
  • Medical terminology
  • Previous hospital experience
  • Experience working with a Patient information System
