Phlebotomist

Part-Time | General Practice | Coole, Co. Westmeath

About the role

Bellview Clinics group is looking for an experienced and reliable Phlebotomist to join our busy and friendly GP team on a part-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys patient-facing clinical work and takes pride in providing professional, compassionate care. The successful candidate will work closely with our GPs and nursing team, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Role details

  • Location: Bellview Clinics, Coole, Co. Westmeath, N91 F7XR
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–1:00pm
  • Job Type: Part-time
  • Salary: Competitive, depending on experience and qualifications

Key responsibilities

  • Perform venepuncture and blood collection safely and confidently.
  • Correctly label, handle, and prepare blood samples for laboratory collection.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
  • Carry out blood pressure monitoring and record patient observations.
  • Perform ECGs as required.
  • Assist the nursing and GP team with a range of clinical duties.
  • Provide professional, compassionate, and patient-centred care.
  • Follow infection prevention, control, and clinical safety procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

Essential requirements

  • Previous phlebotomy / venepuncture experience is essential.
  • Experience with the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Programme is essential.
  • Confident and competent in venepuncture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong patient-care skills and a professional, approachable manner.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a clinical team.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • An understanding of patient confidentiality and GDPR guidelines is essential.
  • A full, clean driving licence is required, as Bellview Clinics operates across multiple locations in the Midlands and travel between clinic locations may be necessary.
