STAFF NURSE - MEDICAL ASSESSMENT UNIT

Permanent – Full Time

Bon Secours Hospital Cork is part of the Bon Secours Health System which is the largest independent hospital group in Ireland with over 2,500 staff including 350 leading consultants. We treat more than 200,000 patients annually. We are now inviting applications for the above post from suitably qualified and experienced candidates.

We are seeking to recruit a nurse for our dynamic Medical Assessment Team. Full training and mentoring is given to all staff nurses as well as funding and support in further education. We are committed to the professional development & education of staff particularly in nursing.

The successful applicant will be required to take responsibility on each shift for the nursing care of allocated patients. To Work within the nursing team and assist colleagues as necessary in providing and maintaining the highest standards in patient care at all times and to work as part of the multidisciplinary team.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A minimum 2 years post qualification experience in Accident & Emergency / MAU/ICU is essential
  • Registered in the General Division of the live register of nurses kept by the NMBI
  • Accident and Emergency course is desirable
  • 33hours per week minimum

Person Specification:

  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Must possess strong communication skills and clinical skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Must be computer literate
  • Flexibility and excellent use of initiative
