Full job description


Successfully appointed candidates will commence a comprehensive training programme. As part of this training programme there will continuous assessments to measure the progress of the individual as they develop in the role. There will be a final assessment to ensure competency of the individual before going solo in the live environment.

This is a shift-based role . A structured training programme with ongoing assessments will be provided, with final sign-off required before operating independently.

Role Purpose

To enable safe and efficient aircraft stand and gate operations by coordinating resources, maintaining accurate operational data, and supporting airport-wide operational decision-making.


Responsibilities


Operational Planning & Allocation

  • Plan and manage aircraft stand and gate allocation in line with AIP, SMS, and Aerodrome Manual
  • Balance apron, terminal, and operational constraints in real time
  • Support updates to the Airport Operations Plan (AOP)

Operational Monitoring & Systems

  • Monitor aircraft movements using AOS and related systems
  • Maintain accurate records (on/off block times, stand usage, aircraft details, etc.)
  • Update operational systems (AOS, AVDGS, ACDM) and KPIs
  • Ensure high levels of data accuracy and integrity

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with APOC teams, ATC, airlines, and handling agents
  • Communicate stand/gate changes and operational updates
  • Escalate issues to appropriate operational leads where required

Disruption & Continuity

  • Support response to disruptions, adverse weather, and off-plan events
  • Contribute to business continuity, emergency, and winter operations
  • Support delivery of exceptional operational events (e.g. VIP, major events)

Reporting & Support

  • Maintain daily operational logs and support reporting
  • Contribute to stand planning, operational improvements, and project work
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain strong safety focus in all activities
  • Monitor ramp activity and escalate risks
  • Liaise with Airside Safety and FOD teams

Level of Autonomy

Operate independently within defined procedures, making day-to-day operational decisions, while escalating complex or high-risk issues to the APOC Team Lead or relevant stakeholders.


Qualifications


Core Requirements (Essential)

  • Experience in a live operational environment
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Good IT and numeracy skills
  • Ability to multitask with accuracy
  • Strong safety and compliance mindset

Highly Desirable

  • Airport operations experience
  • Knowledge of stand/gate allocation
  • Experience with AOS
  • Understanding of AIP / SMS / Aerodrome Manual
  • Familiarity with ATC, airlines, and handlers
  • Experience of adverse weather operations

Nice-to-Have

  • Local systems and daa processes
  • AOP updates and reporting formats
  • Snow control and winter operations
  • AVDGS and slot management

Daa as regulaterd entity requires all successful applicants to:

  • Complete Aptitude assessment
  • Pass 5-year background check (including criminal background check/Garda Vetting)
  • Pass medical evaluation
  • Successfully meet all requirements to obtain an Airport Identity Card (AIC)
