Ergonomics Consultant – Contractor

Part-Time / Full-Time / Flexible Contract Opportunities
Location: Fully Remote, Ireland, with occasional on-site client visits

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ergonomics Consultant to provide professional ergonomic support to corporate clients across Ireland. This is a flexible contractor opportunity suitable for someone looking for part-time, full-time or project-based work. Leads and client contacts will be provided. The role involves carrying out remote and on-site ergonomic and Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments, supporting employees with specific ergonomic or medical requirements, recommending suitable furniture and equipment, analysing workplace data, and delivering ergonomic education and awareness sessions. You will also carry out customer fittings, equipment demonstrations and workstation setups, helping clients create safer, healthier and more comfortable working environments.

Key Responsibilities

DSE & Ergonomic Assessments

  • Conduct remote and on-site Display Screen Equipment (DSE) and ergonomic assessments for corporate clients.
  • Identify ergonomic risks through observation, consultation and assessment of employees within their working environments.
  • Assess workstation setup, equipment, working practices and the interaction between individuals and workplace systems.
  • Provide practical recommendations to reduce identified risks and improve employee comfort and wellbeing.
  • Prepare clear, detailed and prioritised assessment reports, including recommended corrective actions and equipment where appropriate.
  • Support employees with individual or specialist ergonomic requirements, including more complex cases where additional workplace adjustments may be required.
  • Review relevant workplace health and safety requirements and ergonomic best practices.
  • Collect, analyse and interpret ergonomic assessment data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Survey and analyse client data and highlight gaps within existing ergonomic programmes.

Client Support & Equipment Recommendations

  • Carry out remote and on-site chair, desk and workstation setups.
  • Conduct ergonomic consultations by telephone, video call and, where required, in person.
  • Recommend suitable ergonomic furniture, accessories and equipment based on individual requirements.
  • Carry out customer fittings and product demonstrations.
  • Provide clear, practical ergonomic advice and training to employees and management.
  • Respond professionally to ergonomic enquiries received by email, telephone and web chat.
  • Provide ongoing ergonomic support to corporate clients.
  • Attend client meetings and site visits where required.

Training & Ergonomic Awareness

  • Educate employees and management on ergonomic principles and best practices.
  • Deliver live webinars and virtual training sessions to promote awareness and engagement with client ergonomic programmes.
  • Present ergonomic information clearly and confidently to individuals and groups.

Ideal Candidate

The successful contractor will ideally have:

  • Experience carrying out ergonomic and/or DSE assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace ergonomics and workstation setup.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence working directly with corporate clients and employees.
  • Strong report-writing and analytical skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage appointments effectively.
  • A professional, practical and solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience recommending ergonomic furniture and equipment is an advantage.
