Field Sales Controller

LOCATION

This is Field Based calling on, current, Dunnes Tesco Grocery calls within a set geographical area. Defined as Galway Limerick Midlands, Co Athlone Mayo, Roscommon, Due to the nature of this territory candidate would ideally reside in Athlone, Roscommon Galway Area.

HOURS OF WORK

Full time - 37.5hrs per week on territory - Mon - Fri 9-5.

JOB SUMMARY

You will be a key part of our ROI Field Based sales team calling into the established Grocery sector, Dunnes Tesco and driving awareness of GM Marketing’s Global and Local brand portfolio. Key responsibilities will be to ensure Call file is followed, Weekly , 2 Weekly and Monthly, Hands on merchandising in store and drive opportunities in store to promote these brands, have been maximised. Working with and supporting our Grocery and Key Drinks Brands will also be part of the role.

Whilst this is a sales role, some of the stores will already stock some or all the key GM brands so your persuasive and relationship building skills will be key to ensuring all in store opportunities have been put in place and ensuring all stores in your territory fulfil their potential and help deliver the Territory budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct in-store merchandising activities ensuring the agreed shelf space, displays and all POS are in place to maximize sales.
  • Advise customers on promotions and increase their awareness of the whole product range to enhance sales. Look for and agree along with Territory Rep the key focus per store.
  • Cover existing call file and journey plan on weekly, 2 weekly bases to ensure all calls are visited and ensure plans are live in all stores.
  • Agree off shelf promotional activity in your allocated stores.
  • Cover the Stock/Order process in your allocated sales calls capture order and enter via Hand Held system.
  • Keep up to date with GM stock report to ensure the availability of stock, and when necessary, notify the customer of shortages, out of stocks and approximate back-order dates.
  • Ensure that all data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM system.
  • Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams.
  • Attend and assist at exhibitions and trade shows to promote company products as and when required.

  • Absolute awareness at all times of the delivery demands of clients and the required quality of our products/services.
  • Provide general support to ROI Business unit as needed to ensure that the business runs smoothly.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating and collaborating with customers, suppliers, colleagues, and management.
  • Participate in all essential and required training to carry out your role efficiently and safely.
  • Participate in and attend departmental or Company meetings as required.
  • Ensure that company health, safety and environmental policies are always observed.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience in an FMCG environment retail or grocery or a graduate looking for 1 ST step in a sales career.
  • Experience building customer relationships in store groups.
  • Background in store execution, merchandising, consultative selling ideal. Hands on approach
