Full job description

Glassco Recycling Ltd are Ireland's largest glass recycling company and process more than 130,000 tonnes of glass packaging per annum.

We currently collect c.80,000 tonnes on our own vehicles from bottle banks and private customers.

HGV drivers are an integral part of our team and are key in maintaining our excellent customer service records.

We are ISO9001, 14001 and 45001 certified therefore we operate to an extremely high standard in our processes.

Due to expansion on our collection routes, we are looking to hire an additional HGV Driver.

Responsibilities:

Daily truck walk around and update hand held device accordingly

Drive to/from designated customer locations as per daily schedule provided

Follow pre-determined routes to ensure timely and efficient service

Empty glass bins as per Company training which will be given at the start of employment

Record all customer collection information using smart devices provided by the company

Adhere to all safe working procedures and manual handling training provided by the company

Ensure the safety of all staff members on duty and the general public

Drive responsibly, obeying all road rules and any directives or instructions from Gardai

Must wear all PPE provided correctly, which includes Hi-Vis Clothing, Safety Boots, Hearing Protection and Bump Hat at all times when lifting/moving bins

Participate in regular training sessions and tool box talks to stay updated on best practices and company policies

Maintain a professional and courteous demeanour with customers and the public at all times

Key Requirements:

Hold a valid clean HGV licence. A minimum of a C licence is required

Hold an up to date drivers qualification card/up to date CPC's

Complete one module per year to maintain CPC

Digital Tacho Card

Minimum of 1 year driving experience

Physical Fitness is required due to the nature of the role. You will be required to pull multiple bins on wheels of various sizes as part of a 2 person team, up and down streets and kerbs thoughout the working day

A good knowledge of places/road in Dublin is preferrable

Flexibility with regard to start/finish times

Positive Attitude

Able to work on own initiative but also as part of a team

Excellent communication skills

Good English both written and speaking is required
