Dairy Scientist
Our Client is seeking an experienced Dairy Scientist to provide scientific leadership and technical expertise across its dairy ingredients and innovation portfolio. The role will translate scientific knowledge, customer requirements and market opportunities into commercially viable products, technologies and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert scientific leadership in dairy chemistry, protein functionality, dairy processing and ingredient performance.
- Lead the evaluation and development of new dairy ingredients, technologies and applications.
- Provide scientific guidance on formulation, ingredient functionality, pilot trials, manufacturing validation and scale-up.
- Support Commercial and Applications teams during customer engagements, technical presentations and development of scientific claims and value propositions.
- Collaborate with universities, research institutes, industry bodies and external research partners.
- Build internal scientific capability through coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing and training.
- Ensure development activities meet food safety, quality, regulatory and customer requirements.
- Represent the company at relevant scientific forums and industry events.
Skills & Experience
- PhD, MSc or equivalent qualification in Dairy Science, Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Nutrition or a related scientific discipline.
- Significant experience in dairy manufacturing, dairy ingredients, food innovation or applied research.
- Deep understanding of dairy chemistry, protein functionality, ingredient processing and product development.
- Experience leading research and innovation projects from concept through commercialisation.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, quality systems, regulatory requirements and technical documentation.
- Experience working across R&D, Operations, Quality, Applications and Commercial teams.
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and project-management skills.
- Experience managing external research collaborations and technical partnerships is desirable.
- Proven ability to translate scientific knowledge into commercial value.
- Willingness to travel to other sites, customers and research partners as required.
