Location
Full job description
The Gig:
You'll walk a small private group through 5–6 of Dublin's best food and drink stops over 2 hours 45. Along the way you'll tell them the story of each venue, what they're eating and how it's made, and the history of the streets you're walking down — with as many good anecdotes as you can fit in. Think two-and-a-half hours of great company, not a lecture.
What we pay:
€100 per tour — roughly €36 an hour — plus tips, which are generous. Our guests are on holiday, spending well, and American.
Who we’re after:
- Natural storytellers and entertainers. If you perform in any capacity — stage, screen, comedy, music, storytelling — you already have most of what this needs
- Genuine enthusiasm for Irish food and drink, and for Dublin itself.
- Reliable, warm with strangers, and good at reading a room.
- Tour guiding or hospitality experience is a bonus, not a requirement. We'll train you properly.
Why guides love working for us:
- Freelance and flexible — we work around auditions, rehearsals and runs.
- Small private groups, so it's a conversation, not a crowd.
- You'll eat and drink very well.
- No script to recite. We'll give you the structure and the material; the personality is yours.
To Apply:
Send us a short video (1 to 2 minutes, filmed on your phone, no production values needed) telling us:
- who you are and why you'd be a great food tour guide
- your favourite restaurant in Dublin: its history, its ethos, and a signature dish and how it's made
That second part is the real audition. Show us how you'd tell it to a table of guests.
Email it to taylor@chubbyfellow.com. You'll need the right to work in Ireland and to be set up as self-employed (we can point you in the right direction if you're not).
More about us: chubbyfellow.com
Pay: €36.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 12.0 per week
Work Location: In person
