Full job description

URBAN BREWING - The CHQ Building, Custom House Quay, Dublin 1

Experienced Floor Staff (Waiter/Waitress)
Full-time · Dublin 1 · €14.15–€15.50 per hour + tips

About the role

We run a restaurant, bar and working microbrewery in the 200-year-old CHQ Building on Dublin's Docklands - Stack A Restaurant in the vaults, our ground-floor bar, and a terrace, hosting everything from walk-in lunches to events for up to 350 guests.

This is a floor role for someone who takes real pride in service - remembering a regular's order, reading a table, keeping calm when every section is full at once. You don't need to arrive knowing our menu or our wines; you do need to arrive wanting to learn them properly - we'll train you on wine, allergens and service standards ourselves.

About the hours: lunch shifts, evenings and weekends are part of floor life. In return: your roster will be out every Saturday for the week ahead, a team that doesn't leave you uncovered - and Christmas at home: we close every year on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, St Stephen's Day and New Year's Day (we're open New Year's Eve).

What you'll do

  • Deliver warm, attentive service across the restaurant, bar and terrace
  • Take food and drink orders accurately and ring them through the POS
  • Keep your section clean, set and guest-ready throughout service
  • Stay calm and organised under pressure, without losing the details that matter
  • Communicate clearly with the kitchen, bar and your team

About you

  • Experienced - at least 1 year in a waiting or floor role
  • Guest-focused - warm, attentive, genuinely good with people
  • Calm under pressure - efficient and organised when it's busy
  • A clear communicator - fluent English
  • Available for lunch - lunchtime shifts are part of the role
  • Flexible - available for evening and weekend shifts

What we offer

  • €14.15–€15.50 per hour, plus a real share of our tip pool - paid weekly through your payslip, fully transparent, explained before you start. Tips aren't contractual and levels move with trade, but they add meaningfully on top of your hourly rate (currently adding 4.50-6.50 per hour)
  • Closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, St Stephen's Day and New Year's Day - every year
  • Training most restaurants can't offer - wine, allergen, cocktail, beer and service training, tastings and supplier sessions, with a working microbrewery on-site
  • Staff meals twice a day depending on your shift, and a drink for closing staff
  • 25% staff discount and staff parties
  • Genuine progression - our GM started with us as a waitress, our AGM as a barback; we'd rather promote you than advertise
  • A landmark city-centre location beside Connolly Station, the Luas and multiple bus routes
