Occupational Therapist – Grade 2 & 3

The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Melbourne, Australia

Seeking qualified Grade 2 and 3 Occupational Therapists to join Melbourne’s biggest hospital Allied Health Team.

Visa sponsorship may be available for the perfect candidate, which leads to Permanent Residency in Australia to continue your career with us.

· Provide excellent clinical assessment and therapy for patients in the sub-acute hospital wards

· Join our supportive and collaborative Occupational Therapy team

· Full time and Part Time ongoing positions available

· Based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Royal Park Campus

Occupational Therapists provides quality care to clients through excellent clinical skills and effective communication within a multidisciplinary team environment. The Occupational Therapist provides assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients in the inpatient rehabilitation (IPR) ward. The Occupational Therapy team consists of over 50 staff members who work across the City and Royal Park Campuses in acute, sub-acute and community based services across a range of specialties. The team is a cohesive group of professionals who support and encourage professional development and career growth. The Occupational Therapy (OT) department is aligned with the broader Allied Health service. The role is supported by OT senior clinicians, Grade 4 clinical leader, OT workforce manager and the OT manager.

Your New Role

· The OT surgical stream provides clinical services to a wide range of clients who have undergone a variety of surgical procedures

· Provide excellent, evidence based and patient centred care including assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients in the acute hospital wards

· Supervise and educate junior occupational therapists, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students

· Demonstrate excellent communication strategies with patients, relatives, staff and relevant services in order to provide appropriate services, information and leadership

· Actively lead and participate in Allied Health quality improvement initiatives and research

About You

· You have acute hospital experience with a collaborative leadership style

· You have excellent communication skills and a passion for continued professional development for yourself and others.

· You are an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist dedicated to providing evidence-based practice

· You value working with supportive and dedicated Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary teams.
