Social Media and Content Creation Specialist

About the Company

We are a leading travel company operating multiple travel brands, including two of Ireland’s largest online travel agencies Budget Travel and Abbey Travel. Our mission is to inspire and enable unforgettable journeys, and social media plays a vital role in engaging our audience and driving growth.

We are seeking a Social Media and Content Creation Specialist to manage and elevate the social media presence for our travel brands. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success with B2C brands, a passion for creativity, expertise in video and image-based content creation, and the ability to analyse core KPIs and make data driven decisions to increase social performance of social media a score marketing channel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Strategy: Develop and execute innovative strategies to grow our social media presence, reach, web traffic, and engagement with our audiences across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Content Creation: Create, shoot, edit, and publish high-quality video content (including on camera content promoting our products and services) and static images tailored to various social media platforms.
  • Platform Management: Optimise company social media pages to reflect brand identity and maximise reach.
  • Community Engagement: Foster interaction with followers and manage social media responses in a professional and engaging manner.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay up to date on the latest social media trends, tools, and techniques to ensure our brands remain ahead of the curve.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Use social media and web analytics tools to track performance, optimise content, and provide insights to drive engagement, traffic, and revenue growth.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Cross-Department Collaboration: Work alongside the Digital Marketing team on new ad and campaign creatives, ensuring cohesion between Social Media and other channels, including paid social media ads. Work closely with retail departments to liaise on current offers and promotions, and to coordinate and record videos with retail staff showcasing special offers on social media.
  • Earned Media Opportunities: Identify opportunities to leverage earned media and increase brand visibility.
  • Support Marketing Initiatives: Assist in broader marketing efforts where required, and ensuring the integration of social media into company campaigns.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing, Social Media, Communications, Business, or a related field.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience managing social media accounts and creating content for B2C brands.
  • Background in content creation and using tools such as Canva, CapCut, and other video and image editing software.
  • Experience with paid Meta ads.
  • Experience creating and editing video content (including TikTok and Instagram Reels).

Skills and Attributes

  • Social media and web analytics tools (e.g. Meta Insights, TikTok Studio, GA4, Matomo).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort on camera is a must, as video creation for social media and paid ads is a core part of this role.
  • Creative flair with strong visual and written storytelling abilities.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends and technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and creating data driven performance reports.
  • Ability to multitask and manage projects independently.
  • Customer-focused mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
