Supply Chain & Operations Coordinator
Due to our continued growth PowCon is looking for a motivated Supply Chain & Operations Coordinator in the Shannon, Co. Clare area to support the increasing office administration as the company expands. The diverse role will require multi-disciplinary skills and provides opportunities in purchasing, quoting and estimation, account management, logistics and interaction with our international principals and customers. PowCon specialises in powder processing, conveying and containment equipment for the Pharmaceutical, Food and Dairy industries. We exclusively represent an extensive list of blue-chip equipment manufacturers. PowCon has a proven track record of delivering premium products and projects through a wide process knowledge and a detailed understanding of the client's technical requirements. We have particular expertise in the design, delivery, installation & qualification of bespoke equipment specially adapted to suit our multinational customers.
Purpose of role:
Working under the guidance of the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the purchasing and logistics process, including purchase orders, deliveries, goods receipt and approval of invoices for payment. As the role develops, opportunities for generating spares quotations and customer interaction will be enabled and encouraged.
Duties will involve (but not limited to):
- Ensuring purchase orders are generated within required time frames.
- Manage the complete supplier purchasing process from quotation through to purchasing negotiations, placing orders and scheduling deliveries.
- Purchase and process goods through purchasing software
- Recognise potential issues with the supply chain which may negatively impact predicted timelines of projects and rectify accordingly
- Manage technical equipment specifications in association with our project managers.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors.
- Monitor the supply performance of vendors.
- Organising customer deliveries and co-ordinating the necessary logistics
- Reviewing returns and damaged goods.
- Provide support to the relevant department for estimations regarding pre-tender quotations and material specification issues
- Compilation of technical manuals with certification and documentation.
- Working to agreed time scales and deadlines.
- Additional administration tasks as and when required
- Flexibility to travel within Ireland and Europe if and when required.
- Manage "Sales Log" to track all customer purchase orders.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Relevant qualification or certification in Supply Chain, Operations or Procurement
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a purchasing and or logistics role.
- Strong organisational and administration skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Proficient computer skills in (MS Office), Excel, Word and Outlook
- Proficiency in Sage or other purchasing management systems essential.
- Flexible and pro-active attitude with an ability to think strategically and a desire for excellence.
- Ability to absorb technical information of products
- Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work as part of a team with robust communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks appropriately
- High attention to detail, and experience in data entry & analysing data is essential
- Ability to question and critique
- Good problem-solving skills and an analytical approach to issues that may arise
- Full clean drivers' licence.
- Must meet legal requirements to work in Ireland.
Interpersonal skills required:
- Confident verbal and written communication skills
- Self-Starter, work under your own initiative whilst also working as part of a diverse team is essential to this role.
- Collaborate with our onsite Engineers and staff within our principal's organisations.
- Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work well under pressure to agreed deadlines and to a high standard.
