Eco Smart is a growing external insulation company delivery high-quality projects across Ireland. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Accounts/finance Manager to join our team. This role will play a key part in providing accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across the business.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee our day-to-day financial operations and ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions. You'll manage a broad remit—from transactional processing and statutory returns to cash flow management and process improvement—within a fast-paced construction retrofit company. This is a full-time position based in Castlerea Co.Roscommon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting transactions, including bank receipts/payments and posting of sales and purchase invoices
  • Accounts payable — Manage supplier payments and weekly payment runs
  • Prepare and review month-end and year-end close processes – prepare management accounts, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and control accounts; lead close processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, RCT, and other Revenue returns on time.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage bank accounts, and prepare bank, credit card, cash, and supplier reconciliations
  • Work closely with Accounts payable to improve financial performance.
  • Controls & process improvement — Develop and strengthen financial controls, accounting procedures, and reporting; identify automation and efficiency opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.

Candidate requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an Accountant, finance or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish tax compliance (VAT, PAYE, RCT), management accounts preparation, and financial controls
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or ERP systems); advanced Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis and management accounting principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise across departments and with external parties
  • Attention to detail: Proven ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines
