We are an innovative initiative passionate about bringing a love of science and learning to primary school aged children in County Dublin.

We are now recruiting for the positions of Science Instructors at Junior Einsteins Science Club in Dublin to host our after school science clubs and holiday science camps in Co. Dublin.

Job Title: Science Instructor

Overall Purpose: To deliver science education based events to children.

Main Responsibilities: These are to:

· Deliver science-based educational programs, including our weekday after school science clubs (between the hours of 2pm -5pm)

· Preparing stock/kit in advance of lessons. Take care of provided equipment.

· Following our scripts to deliver high quality, hands on science to primary school aged children

· Travel to schools & venues to host our programs

· Be responsible for health and safety of children during our programs.

Required Educational Level: Third level STEM based degree, child care experience, education or coaching experience or equivalent. Full training is provided for the right candidate.

Professional Experience and Skills

· Have full access to a car and full driving licence

· Strong communication skills, with an aptitude for conveying accurate, science-based fact in a child-friendly manner using our scripts for experiments.

· Strong sense of fairness

· Experience in working with children (ideally between 5-12 year age group)

· Good organisational skills, equipment care, promptness in responding to emails and other communications, thoroughness in preparation for classes and other events and proactive about clarifying matters with parents when required.

· Science/education background preferable but not essential as full training will be provided

· Punctuality and willingness to travel

· Flexibility regarding working hours – willing to work weekday afternoons & during school holidays (opportunity to work weekday mornings for successful candidates)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: €25.00-€35.00 per hour
