We are looking for a full-time or part-time Kitchen Porter to join our production kitchen team in Ballymun, Dublin, preparing fresh food and baked goods for our Coffeeangel shops.
As Kitchen Porter you keep our Ballymun production kitchen clean, safe, and ready for the team to produce excellent bread, pastries, sandwiches, and other food for our cafés. You work early mornings (03:00–11:00) to support breakfast production so all breakfast items are ready to leave the kitchen by 05:00 and cafés can open at 07:00.
What You'll Do

- Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, equipment, and storage areas to a high standard.
- Unload and store deliveries correctly in the right locations.
- Help with basic food prep (washing vegetables, preparing ingredients).
- Complete cleaning checklists and follow food safety rules (HACCP).
- Help other team members and occasionally help deliver items to cafés.
You Must Be
- Reliable and punctual.
- Fast and organised, able to work efficiently during busy periods.
- Able to work independently after training and follow instructions.
- Comfortable with early morning work (03:00 start).
- Able to use basic computer systems (online ordering, temperature logs).
- Physically comfortable standing for the full shift and lifting heavy items.
- Willing to do different tasks as needed (cleaning, basic prep, deliveries, etc.)
Requirements
Essential:
- Strong work ethic – you enjoy hard, physical work.
- Able to work quickly and efficiently with good attention to detail.
- Basic food safety knowledge (we provide training).
- Basic computer literacy (email, online systems).
- Reliable transport to reach Ballymun early mornings.
- Confirmed right to work in Ireland.
Nice to Have:
- Kitchen or hospitality experience.
- Driving licence (useful for café deliveries).
- Interest in learning more about cooking and working in a production kitchen
What We Offer
- Pension auto-enrolment: 1.5% employer contribution
- Paid birthday day off after successful completion of probationary period
- Statutory annual leave, public holiday entitlements, and statutory sick pay in line with Irish law
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Free on-shift food and coffee
- Full training: First aid, food safety, and manual handling training provided
Progression & growth
- Clear kitchen career path: Kitchen Porter Kitchen Assistant / Commis Chef Chef de Partie Kitchen Supervisor Head Chef / Production Kitchen Head Chef, with defined rate ranges at each step. Progression is based on reliability, hygiene standards, initiative, willingness to learn, and contribution to team operations – not just time served.

- Fast‑paced kitchen environment with mostly standing work and peak busy times.
- Team‑based environment with clear standards and support from the Executive Chef and wider kitchen team
