Start Date: 26th August 2026 (2026/2027 School Term)
Guaranteed minimum 10 hours per week, with additional hours available (typically 20-25 hours per week)
Please note: The current rate of pay is €15.00 per hour. This will increase to €15.75 per hour from 1st October 2026.

We are currently recruiting Part-Time Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) to join our Afterschool services in Scartleigh NS for the 2026/2027 school term.

About the Role
Our Afterschool programme provides a safe, welcoming, and engaging home-from-home environment where children can relax, complete their homework, and take part in a wide range of fun and enriching activities at the end of the school day.
As a Special Needs Assistant, you will provide one-to-one support to a child with additional needs, helping them participate fully in the Afterschool programme while encouraging their independence, confidence, and overall development.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing one-to-one support for a child throughout the Afterschool programme
- Encouraging positive communication, social interaction, and independence
- Supporting the child's emotional wellbeing and helping them express their needs in a positive way
- Assisting with homework and daily activities where required
- Helping the child participate in games, creative activities, and outdoor play
- Working closely with colleagues to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
- Promoting the child's health, safety, and wellbeing at all times
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with children, preferably supporting children with additional needs
- A kind, patient, and enthusiastic approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them reach their full potential
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Full driving licence is an advantage but not essential
- Willingness to complete Garda Vetting and reference checks
