We are currently recruiting Part-Time Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) to join our Afterschool services in Scartleigh NS for the 2026/2027 school term.

About the Role

Our Afterschool programme provides a safe, welcoming, and engaging home-from-home environment where children can relax, complete their homework, and take part in a wide range of fun and enriching activities at the end of the school day.

As a Special Needs Assistant, you will provide one-to-one support to a child with additional needs, helping them participate fully in the Afterschool programme while encouraging their independence, confidence, and overall development.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing one-to-one support for a child throughout the Afterschool programme
• Encouraging positive communication, social interaction, and independence
• Supporting the child's emotional wellbeing and helping them express their needs in a positive way
• Assisting with homework and daily activities where required
• Helping the child participate in games, creative activities, and outdoor play
• Working closely with colleagues to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
• Promoting the child's health, safety, and wellbeing at all times

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working with children, preferably supporting children with additional needs
• A kind, patient, and enthusiastic approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them reach their full potential
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Full driving licence is an advantage but not essential
• Willingness to complete Garda Vetting and reference checks
