Full job description

Summer Content Creator & Brand Storyteller (Student Opportunity)

Duration: Summer Position (Potential for ongoing work)
Hours: Part-time / Flexible

Love creating videos? Want to build your portfolio while working on a real brand?

We're looking for a creative student who enjoys filming, editing and creating engaging short-form videos for social media.

This isn't a job creating boring posters or traditional adverts.

You'll help a modern, independent retail pharmacy build a trusted health education brand by creating videos that people genuinely enjoy watching and sharing.

Our philosophy is simple:

Educate first. Sell second.

About the Role

You'll work alongside the business owner to plan, film and edit engaging short-form videos for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

Over the summer, you'll help create a library of content that can be used throughout the year, developing repeatable weekly series and content that builds trust, encourages engagement and helps educate the public.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone wanting real-world experience in content creation, videography, digital marketing or social media.

What you'll be creating

Examples include:

  • Weekly one-minute health tips
  • Myth-busting healthcare videos
  • Behind-the-scenes content
  • Meet the Team features
  • Frequently asked questions
  • Product demonstrations
  • Seasonal health advice
  • Customer stories (where appropriate)
  • Everyday pharmacy tips
  • Day-in-the-life content
  • Health awareness campaigns

The aim is to create content people choose to watch—not content that feels like advertising.

Your responsibilities

  • Film short-form videos using a smartphone
  • Edit engaging videos using CapCut, Canva or similar apps
  • Add captions, music and graphics
  • Brainstorm creative content ideas
  • Help develop recurring weekly content series
  • Spot social media trends we can adapt
  • Organise video footage for future use
  • Capture authentic moments with staff and customers (where appropriate)
  • Suggest ways to improve engagement and reach

What we're trying to achieve

We're not looking for someone to make adverts.

We're building a trusted health education brand.

Our content should:

  • Educate before selling
  • Solve problems rather than promote products
  • Start with an attention-grabbing hook
  • Tell stories instead of listing product features
  • Show real people
  • Feel authentic and relatable
  • Encourage comments and conversations
  • Build trust with our local community

Who we're looking for

You might be:

  • A university or college student home for the summer
  • Studying media, marketing, communications, photography, film or digital content
  • Someone who creates content for fun
  • Someone who loves social media and wants experience working with a real business

Experience isn't essential.

Attitude is.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Creative
  • Curious
  • Organised
  • Reliable
  • A good communicator
  • Comfortable taking direction
  • Happy suggesting ideas
  • Able to work independently once given guidance
  • Passionate about creating content that people actually enjoy watching

Skills we'd love

  • Comfortable filming using an iPhone or Android phone
  • Able to edit engaging short-form videos
  • Familiar with Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels and TikTok
  • Experience using CapCut, Canva or similar editing software
  • Good written English
  • An eye for storytelling and visual content

Bonus points if you...

  • Already have a portfolio, Instagram page, TikTok account or YouTube channel
  • Enjoy photography or videography
  • Understand what makes people stop scrolling
  • Keep up with social media trends
  • Have an interest in health, wellbeing or education

What you'll gain

  • Real-world content creation experience
  • The opportunity to build an impressive portfolio
  • Creative freedom to contribute ideas
  • Flexible working hours
  • Mentoring throughout the project
  • The chance to see your work viewed by thousands of people
  • Potential for ongoing freelance or part-time work after the summer

How to apply

Please send:

  • Your CV
  • A short introduction about yourself
  • Links to any videos or social media content you've created (if available)
  • Three ideas for social media videos you think a modern retail pharmacy should create.
  • Optional (but strongly encouraged): Record a 30-second video telling us why you'd be a great fit for this role.

We're much more interested in creativity, enthusiasm and your willingness to learn than years of experience.

If you're the kind of person who watches social media and thinks, "I could make that better," we'd love to hear from you.

Pay: €400.00 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Ireland
