We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Supply Chain Specialist to join our Supply Chain Team.

This is a key role within our retail supply chain function, supporting the management of product and supplier information across a large and fast-moving product database. The successful candidate will work closely with the Buying, Supply Chain and Supplier teams to ensure product, pricing, costing and supplier information is accurate, up to date and maintained to a consistently high standard.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience within a retail supply chain, with a strong understanding of product data, suppliers, pricing and inventory.

The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong numerical ability and advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, together with the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of product, supplier, costing, pricing and offer information within the company's databases and systems.
  • Manage and update product information throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring information is accurate and available when required.
  • Maintain and update supplier costs, retail prices, margins and promotional offers.
  • Work closely with the Buying and Supply Chain teams to ensure product information is accurately maintained and updated.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding product information, pricing, samples and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate supplier and product records.
  • Support the introduction of new products by ensuring all required product, supplier, pricing, packaging and website information is captured and maintained.
  • Manage the product sample process, including requesting, tracking and coordinating samples with suppliers.
  • Arrange samples for website, packaging and product photography and ensure samples are available within agreed timelines.
  • Manage and maintain product information required for packaging, website content and other retail channels.
  • Conduct approval checks and assessments of product samples, packaging, photography and product information, ensuring accuracy and adherence to requirements.
  • Assist with data analysis and reporting to support effective inventory management and stock optimisation.
  • Identify data discrepancies, investigate issues and ensure corrective action is taken promptly.
  • Support systems testing and implementation when new products, processes or system changes are introduced.
  • Develop and maintain robust Excel spreadsheets and reports to support the Supply Chain and Buying functions.
  • Work proactively with internal teams and suppliers to resolve product and data-related issues.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, analytical and commercially aware, with a genuine interest in retail supply chain and product management.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working within a retail supply chain, buying, merchandising, product administration or similar retail Head Office environment.
  • Experience managing large volumes of product and supplier data.
  • An understanding of the retail product lifecycle, including product setup, supplier information, costing, pricing and product maintenance.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to managing data.
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Excel, including working with large spreadsheets, data manipulation, formulas and reporting.
  • Strong database and data management capabilities.
  • Experience of systems testing would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to identifying problems and finding practical solutions.
  • The ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a wider Supply Chain and Buying team.
  • A diploma or degree in Business, Supply Chain, Retail, Data, Purchasing or a related discipline would be an advantage.

This role would ideally suit someone with experience of working with retail product, supplier and commercial data within a supply chain environment.

We are particularly interested in candidates who understand that accurate product data is critical to a successful retail operation and who can work confidently with large volumes of information while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
