Videographer
Catalyst Media
Location: Dublin City Centre (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)
Reports to: Head of Design
Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
Catalyst Media is seeking an experienced and versatile Videographer and Content Creator to join our in-house team. This is a standout opportunity to work across one of Ireland’s most diverse and exciting media and events portfolios, spanning large-scale public showcases, prestigious industry award ceremonies, intimate C-suite forums, and a leading media brand.
Our event portfolio includes, but is not limited to: Dublin Tech Summit, the European Motor Show, Business & Finance Awards, the Spider Awards, ESG Awards, DITA (Diversity Inclusion Tech Awards), FS Awards, and a series of four to six exclusive C-suite events annually. Beyond events, you will also work on company visits, editorial content, podcast and webinar production, and ongoing brand campaigns across all Catalyst Media properties.
You will be the lead creative behind all video output, capturing live events, conducting on-camera interviews with senior industry figures, producing promotional campaigns, and managing digital content production from concept through to delivery. You will also recruit and oversee interns or volunteers to support content capture at larger events.
This role suits an accomplished content professional with a minimum of five years’ experience, a strong command of production tools, and a genuine curiosity about emerging AI and technology trends that can drive efficiencies in how we create and deliver content.
Key Responsibilities
Event Coverage
- Attend all events across the Catalyst Media portfolio to lead video capture, including Dublin Tech Summit, European Motor Show, Business & Finance Awards, Spider Awards, ESG Awards, DITA Awards, FS Awards, and C-suite closed-door events.
- Plan and execute shoot schedules in collaboration with event and marketing teams ahead of each event, identifying key content moments and priorities.
- Operate camera, audio, and lighting equipment across a range of event formats and venues, adapting quickly and working independently on-site.
- For larger events, creatively direct the subcontracted AV team to capture audio and visual content from stages that can be utilised post event.
- Capture event content: keynote presentations, panel sessions, key moments, partner activations, networking, and audience atmosphere.
- Recruit, brief, and manage interns or volunteers to support content capture at events, ensuring consistent quality across the team.
Showreel & Honouree Profile Production
- Produce high quality profile videos for use at live events, including lead in films for award honourees and special guests across the Catalyst Media awards portfolio (approx 5-6) pieces per year.
- Work closely with the editorial and event teams to research, script, and storyboard compelling narrative profiles that reflect the individual's career, achievements, and significance within their industry.
- Source and manage archive footage, photography, press assets, and third-party content in compliance with licensing requirements, weaving these together with original footage to create polished, broadcast standard show pieces.
- Bring strong storytelling instincts to every profile piece, with the ability to distil a person's story into a visually compelling, emotionally engaging short-form video.
On-Camera Interviews & Company Visits
- Conduct and film on-camera interviews with C-suite executives, senior stakeholders, speakers, award winners, and other high profile individuals, demonstrating confidence, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills from behind the camera.
- Lead video production for company visits and brand partnership content, including corporate profile pieces, thought leadership interviews, and behind the scenes features.
Post-Event & Post-Production
- Edit and deliver post-event highlight reels, speaker clips, award ceremony cuts, and recap videos across multiple formats and platforms.
- Prioritise fast turnaround social media assets within 24–48 hours of event completion, while managing longer form edits to agreed timelines.
- Manage and maintain a well organised content library of all footage, photography, and finished assets across the full event and brand portfolio.
Marketing & Promotional Content
- Produce promotional video content for campaigns across all Catalyst Media brands: event trailers, big speaker announcements, ticket campaigns, sponsor deliverables, and brand storytelling.
- Create short-form content optimised for LinkedIn, Instagram, X, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
- Produce long-form content for websites, YouTube, email marketing, and editorial features.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing and editorial teams to ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, campaign objectives, and audience needs.
Digital Events, Webinars & Podcasts
- Working collaboratively with the Content & Programme Director of Catalyst Media to manage the end-to-end technical production and recording of webinars, virtual events, and podcast sessions, ensuring professional-quality audio and video output.
- Edit and produce podcast and webinar recordings for distribution across relevant platforms, working collaboratively with the Content & Programme Director.
Essential Experience, Software & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a videography or video content production role.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop (or equivalent professional suite).
- Proven experience filming and directing on-camera interviews with senior executives, public figures, or high-profile stakeholders.
- Competence in on-location audio capture, sound mixing, and post-production audio balancing.
- Solid understanding of lighting techniques across event, interview, and location settings.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver them to tight deadlines.
- Experience recruiting, briefing, and managing junior team members, interns, or volunteers in a production context.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Willingness and ability to travel to events.
Bonus Skills (Not Required)
- Experience managing webinar or podcast production via Zoom, StreamYard, Riverside.fm, or similar platforms.
- Drone/aerial videography certification (RPAS/A2 CofC or equivalent).
- Experience with live streaming and broadcast production.
- Motion graphics and animation capabilities beyond After Effects (e.g. Cinema 4D, DaVinci Resolve Fusion, Blender).
- Colour grading experience using DaVinci Resolve or Lumetri Colour.
- Interest and knowledge in the tech, business, automotive, or financial services sectors – areas central to the Catalyst Media portfolio.
- Familiarity with G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Photography skills for photography assignments - event launch photography, or limited photo capture at small scale events when a professional photographer is unavailable.
- Up to date with AI and emerging technology tools relevant to content production, which can improve production speed, quality, and efficiency across the content pipeline.
