Post Summary:
The Student Counsellor’s main responsibility is the provision of assessments, brief counselling and facilitation of groups and workshops. In addition to this, the post holder will be assigned a specific brief, such as: the development and delivery of the training, supervision, outreach and prevention or groups programmes. The assigned brief can change depending on the evolving needs of the service and with the changing needs of the student body.
As a senior Student Counsellor within the Student Counselling Services (SCS/the Service), they will also assist and deputise for the team Clinical Manager and assist the Senior Management Team in the development of the Service.
Please note that police vetting will be sought in respect of individuals who come under consideration for this post.
Post status: Specific Purpose Contract
The specific purpose this employment is to fill an Administrative 1 (Points 1-3) vacancy on a temporary basis pending the return of the postholder from career break. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis as the original postholder is expected to return. If the postholder does not return to work the post will be filled through open competition.
Hours of Post: 35 hours per week
Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative 1 (Points 1-3), Salary Scale (€70,942 - €91,774 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
