Junior Physiotherapist – Sports Medicine

Location: Sports Surgery Clinic
Job type: Permanent (38 hours per week)

Overview of role:

The Physiotherapist will work alongside senior physiotherapists, sports physicians, and orthopaedic consultants to deliver high-quality rehabilitation services to athletes and active individuals. This role offers excellent mentoring, professional development, and exposure to complex sports injury cases in a high-performance clinical environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver evidence-based assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal and sports injuries
• Assist in post-operative rehabilitation programmes
• Support return-to-play planning for athletes
• Contribute to injury prevention and performance programmes
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Participate in CPD and in-service training sessions
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards
Adhere to all UPMC policies including (but not limited to) GDPR compliance, Health and safety and incident reporting.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

• BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy
• CORU registration
• 2 years post graduate experience in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience working with athletes or sports teams
• Membership of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP)
