This is an excellent opportunity for a civil engineering design professional to play a key role in coordinating design through the tender and pre-construction stages of major infrastructure projects.

Project Experience

Our teams deliver a diverse range of infrastructure projects including:

• Renewables, including civil, mechanical and electrical elements.

The Role

As a Pre-Construction Design Coordinator/Engineer with Wills Bros, you will coordinate design inputs during the tender and pre-construction stages of major infrastructure projects.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Prepare and coordinate technical tender submissions, including design submissions, value engineering proposals and technical responses.
• Liaise with design consultancies and coordinate multidisciplinary design inputs throughout the tender process.
• Work closely with estimating, planning and construction teams to develop buildable, cost-effective and programme-aligned design solutions.
• Review and interpret client requirements, specifications and tender documentation, and coordinate the development of compliant tender designs.
• Manage design deliverables, interfaces, actions and programme requirements throughout the tender period.
• Identify and support the resolution of design risks, opportunities, constraints and technical interfaces.
• Support the appointment and management of design consultants, including scope development, coordination of deliverables and administration of consultant appointments.

About You

We are interested in hearing from civil engineering design professionals who possess:

• A Level 8 civil engineering degree or an equivalent recognised engineering qualification.
• A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience, including at least 3 years of direct civil engineering design experience.
• Experience working on civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
• A good understanding of the interaction between design and construction methodology.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with designers, estimators and construction teams.
• Ability to review technical documentation, drawings, specifications and tender requirements.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage design deliverables, actions and interfaces within tender timelines.
