Role Overview

As a Field Officer, you will serve as the crucial, direct link between our central packing facility and our network egg producers. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you will spend significant time on-site, providing expert guidance to producers, ensuring strict compliance with Bord Bia (SEAS), welfare and customer standards, and driving flock health and performance metrics. You will play a vital role in safeguarding our supply chain, maintaining high bio-security, and helping our farming partners implement sustainable modern practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Farm Relations & Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for your assigned group of producers, fostering long-term, collaborative relationships.
• Compliance & Auditing: Conduct regular site visits and farm audits to maintain compliance with Bord Bia Quality Assurance (SEAS), customer specific, food safety, and animal welfare standards.
• Flock Management Support: Assist farmers with technical guidance on general flock management to optimize production and egg quality.
• Bio-Security & Hygiene: Monitor and provide guidance around bio-security measures across producer sites to mitigate risk and protect the wider supply chain.
• Data Collection & Reporting: Maintain precise records of flock performance and audit scores, with regular reports into management.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Help deploy and track farm-level targets aligned with the Origin Green Sustainability Charter and assist in gathering farm data in relation to scope 3 emissions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: A third level qualification in Agricultural Science, Animal Science, Poultry Management, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
• Experience: Previous experience in a fieldwork, auditing, or technical role within the poultry sector is desirable. The role may also suit an enthusiastic self-starter who is with a looking to establish their career in the poultry or egg industry.
• Communication: Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate technical requirements clearly, respectfully and collaboratively with farmers.
• Teamwork: Ability to work with in a team environment, communicate openly and work collaboratively with colleagues across the business.
• Technical Skills: Strong organizational skills and proficiency in using digital data collection tools or farm management software.
• Travel: A valid, clean Irish/EU driving license is essential, as this role requires regular travel to farms across the country. A company vehicle will be provided for daily work use.
