Job Title: Process Engineer
Location: Sligo, Ireland
Contract: 12 Months
Rate: €55 - 65 per hour

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join a leading biopharmaceutical facility in Sligo on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will play a critical role in new product introductions (NPI), process development, and technical transfers for fill-finish operations, including lyophilized products. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with global science and quality teams to ensure efficient, compliant, and robust manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform gap analyses, facility fit studies, process safety reviews, and risk assessments for NPI.
  • Monitor and analyze process data during manufacturing to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in the development and scale-up of manufacturing processes for new products.
  • Provide operational technical support for process-related issues and investigations.
  • Prepare and update specifications and documentation related to NPI materials and consumables.
  • Lead or support risk assessments, including PFMEA and EHS considerations.
  • Develop NPI-related documents such as Transfer Plans, Protocols, Procedures, and Manufacturing Batch Records.
  • Collaborate with global science and quality teams on process development initiatives.
  • Support, supervise, and train operations personnel on NPI processes.
  • Ensure adherence to all EHS&E standards, procedures, and policies.

Requirements

Top Skills Required:

  • Hands-on experience with DP fill-finish operations for biologics products.
  • Experience working with lyophilized (LYO) products.
  • Proven experience in technical transfer projects, including preparation of deliverables such as gap assessments and cleaning assessments.
  • Familiarity with single-use system designs in DP processes.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Third-level degree in a relevant engineering, science, or technical discipline.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline desirable.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical process engineering, including batch processing, technical transfers, and scale-up in a cGMP pharmaceutical or biologics environment.
  • Experience with new product introductions to biologic facilities desirable.
