Your New Company
Your new company is an award-winning, leading consultancy in Ireland and Europe. For 20 years, they have held an excellent reputation for delivering industry-leading designs and engineering solutions. They have a superb record in the design of sustainable concepts across all sectors of the building industry, with this being assisted by the latest building simulation software. They are currently hiring a Senior Design Engineer to join their expanding team, which is facilitated by their relocation to a new, bespoke office in the heart of Dublin.
Your New Role
In your new role as Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be working on their Data Centre projects across Ireland and Europe. You are expected to have a detailed understanding of mechanical engineering and design fundamentals and core principles, as well as be self-assured to work independently and in support of your wider team.
Your responsibilities include:
- Lead the Mechanical Services design for a range of projects
- Design and specification of electrical services for various types of buildings and sectors
- Produce detailed schematics
- Develop the mechanical design standards within the organisation
- Mentor junior engineering staff
- Provide fully detailed tender packages and monitor installation/quality on site until project completion
- Tender report/analysis/recommendations
- Develop project scope with the design team/client
- Confidently use Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech, and REVIT
- Produce budgets and reports for clients
- Attend site visits
- Take the lead on projects with minimal input from the management team
What You Need to Succeed
- Honours Degree - Chartered an advantage but not essential
- 7+ years of experience as an Engineer
- Mechanical building services design experience within Data Centre engineering projects
- In-depth knowledge of electrical design and engineering techniques
- Deep knowledge of ETCI, CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech, and REVIT is an advantage.
- Confident leading projects from the concept stage to completion
- Communicative and able to liaise with clients, architects, and project managers
- Manage the specification and design of Mechanical Building Services systems for a range of projects
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
