My client is a recognised leader in delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions across critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects. With continued growth and a strong pipeline of work nationwide, they are now seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join their expanding team on a wastewater treatment project in Castlemagner, Co. Cork.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a highly skilled, multidisciplinary engineering environment where collaboration, continuous improvement, and career progression are genuinely supported. You’ll gain exposure across the full project lifecycle—from design through construction, commissioning, and handover—while developing specialist expertise within a rapidly growing sector.
Key Responsibilities:

Work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary engineering team across one or more live projects.

Ensure all Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards are rigorously followed on site.

Support the Project Manager in daily operations and act as cover when required, overseeing day-to-day site coordination.

Understand project programmes and budgets, recognising the impact of any delays or deviations.
-
Review and develop design specifications, providing practical solutions to design-related challenges.
-
Carry out setting out using GPS, total station, and 3D scanning equipment; gather accurate As-Built data.

Prepare technical reports, quality documentation, O&M inputs, and monthly progress updates.

Ensure all works, materials, and installation methods meet specified quality standards.

Use procurement systems to manage materials and subcontract packages efficiently.

Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, project staff, commercial teams, and stakeholders.

Participate in weekly planning meetings and contribute to efficient delivery strategies.

Engage with client representatives, the public, and project stakeholders as needed.

Maintain continuous professional development and contribute to the training of junior team members.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in water/wastewater infrastructure.

Degree in Civil Engineering.
-
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-
Experience engaging suppliers/subcontractors through procurement and delivery stages.
-
Good working knowledge of GPS, total station, CAD, and MS Office applications.
-
Strong communication skills, motivated, and eager to progress within a growing organisation.
-
Full driving licence required.
