Senior Project Engineer - South Dublin.

Key Responsibilities:
Providing project engineering expertise in the scoping, design & installation of all electrical and instrumentation (automation) projects across the Dublin sites. EI&A engineering support for new & existing installations.

  • Working as part of the engineering team to ensure the smooth development & handover of systems from conception to commissioning and into sustaining operations.
  • Preparing URS, scoping information for key discipline projects and supporting the E&I scoping of other disciplines
  • Selecting and sizing electrical and instrument equipment appropriate to ATEX and non-ATEX environments
  • Overseeing project design, carrying out design risk assessment supporting function for process risk assessments and HAZOP assessments.
  • Preparing budgets and capital requests for EI&A projects and supporting team members in budget preparation on the EI&A components of their projects.
  • Preparing and tracking project schedule.
  • Project coordination, interfacing, and directing contractors during implementation
  • Examining and signing-off on EI&A design, loop sheets, ATEX inspections, descriptive systems documents and RECI certs and compiling project safety file.
  • Supporting the engineering team as the SME in the EI&A discipline, design, reviewing and approving to the relevant standards

Qualifications and Experience requirements:
The successful candidate will, at a minimum, have a degree qualification in electrical or instrumentation engineering.

Will possess good interpersonal skills, demonstrate good organisational ability and be able to work off their own initiative. Be able to prepare and present project proposals to the management team. Have experience of working in an ATEX environment.
Be able to understand and carry out electrical design, motor sizing, cable sizing and size electrical protection devices. Have experience installing and commissioning DCS or SCADA automated control systems.
Ability to lead and keep a clear head under pressure is essential to this role. Logical problem solving and solution development is a key demand of this role.

IT proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Teams and standard office suite of programs is desirable.
