Senior Engineer (Fit out & Interiors) – Tralee

DOE: €75k + Package

Company Overview:

A main contractor who has numerous projects throughout Ireland are seeking a Senior Engineer to support their team on a Fit out and Interiors project in Tralee, Co. Kerry. The Senior Engineer manages the engineering function as the senior representative, co-ordinates with the line manager and provides Engineering Leadership for their respective project.

Job Summary:

  • Manage and lead the Engineering Project team
  • Understands key tolerances and can analyse details across several interfaces to highlight potential problems
  • Competent in the principles of quality control for packages. Can review and create Inspection & Test Plans. Can readily display advanced knowledge of key packages such as concrete, drainage, external works, steelwork, flooring, facades and cleanrooms
  • Has a good awareness of the project specifications, in particular tolerances for vertical and horizontal structural elements
  • Controls the components of the Non-Conformance procedure. Is comfortable in creating and closing out Non-Conformances. Understands the cost of defects and remedial works. Works actively to close out NCR’s in a timely manner
  • Knowledge and awareness of permit systems
  • Can review and create method statements and risk assessments
  • Identifies where information is missing and has an excellent working knowledge of the project RFI process, including technical submittals
  • Awareness around lifting operations /appointment person trained
  • Awareness around temporary works -TWC/TWS trained
  • Control and leading site meetings
  • Client interface experience
  • Design teams’ coordination experience

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator training
  • Lifting Operations awareness / Operations Appointed Persons / A61 CPCS Lifting
  • Scaffold awareness/inspection
  • Planning & programming software
  • SMSTS/SSSTS Card (UK), MSIC (Ireland)
