The Award Winning Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa, in the vibrant town of Tralee, currently has an exciting opportunity for a Food and Beverage Assistant to join our outstanding team!
Scope of Role:
Food and Beverage Assistants are responsible for assisting in all food and beverage operations within the hotel's restaurant, bar, and banqueting facilities. They work alongside the food and beverage team to ensure that guests receive high-quality service and have an enjoyable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
To ensure 4* standards of service are achieved at all times.
To perform in a professional and courteous manner with all customers (internal & external).
To offer an in-depth knowledge of food and beverage products and hotel services in general.
To ensure all hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times.
To comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, and employment.
To maintain a clean Department at all times.
To be informed on SOPs for Food & Beverage venues & follow guidelines set out in these manuals
To set up covers and tables accordingly.
To prepare mise-en-place prior to service, napkins, cruets, glassware, cutlery etc.
Greeting and seating guests in the restaurant/ brasserie and bar areas.
Taking food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, offer explanations & advice on menu items
Serving food and beverages to guests in a timely manner.
Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant, bar, and banqueting areas.
To run food from kitchen to restaurant/brasserie
To provide room service, set up of orders, deliver to room, and retrieve orders from room.
Assisting with the setup and breakdown of tables and chairs for banquets and events.
Providing excellent customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
To assist wash up by clearing and stacking all ware properly
Handling guest complaints discretely and resolving any issues that may arise.
Following all health and safety regulations and procedures.
Assisting with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
Assisting with menu planning and development.
Working closely with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Helping with the training and development of new staff members.
To report all maintenance problems to the manager on duty.
To attend and participate in Hotel Meetings and training.
To help other team members when needed, for example, drop drinks to tables for bartenders, clear tables when needed even if they are not your own section
The Hotel Food and Beverage Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring that guests receive exceptional service and have a memorable dining experience. They contribute to the overall success of the food and beverage department by assisting in various tasks and responsibilities.
You must remain totally flexible in your position and may be required to carry out other tasks as directed by management.
Requirements:
- Fluent English
- Experience not essential but advantageous
