Full job description

Jake’s Bakery is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Barista to join our team in Bandon.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffees and other beverages while providing excellent customer service. As part of a busy bakery environment, you will also help with serving customers, maintaining the café and counter area, and ensuring every customer receives a warm and welcoming experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve coffees, teas and other hot and cold beverages to a consistently high standard.
  • Operate and maintain the coffee machine and associated equipment.
  • Provide friendly, efficient and professional customer service.
  • Take customer orders and operate the till/POS system.
  • Serve bakery products, pastries, cakes and other food items as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organised coffee station, counter and customer area.
  • Restock milk, coffee, cups and other supplies throughout the day.
  • Follow food hygiene, HACCP and health & safety procedures.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties.
  • Work closely with the bakery and front-of-house team during busy periods.
  • Help create a welcoming atmosphere and positive experience for customers.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties required as part of the day-to-day running of the bakery.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous barista or café experience is preferred, although training can be provided for the right person.
  • Friendly and confident when dealing with customers.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, punctual and well organised.
  • Able to work efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in presentation.
  • An interest in coffee and providing excellent customer service.
  • Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends as required.

Pay: €15.00 per hour
