Front of House Manager

The Grumpy Bakers – 2 Washington st, Cork city

We're looking for an exceptional Front of House Manager to lead our team and help create a warm, welcoming experience for every customer who walks through our doors.

The Grumpy Bakers is an artisan sourdough bakery and café built around seasonal ingredients, handcrafted food, speciality coffee and genuine hospitality. We care deeply about quality, our team and the community we've created, and we're looking for someone who shares those values.

About the role

As Front of House Manager, you'll be responsible for leading our café team, maintaining high standards of service and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the front of house.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend your time on the floor, supporting the team, engaging with customers and ensuring every detail reflects our standards.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading, motivating and developing the front of house team
  • Delivering exceptional customer service every day
  • Managing daily café operations and service flow
  • Training new team members and maintaining service standards
  • Managing staff rotas and daily staffing requirements
  • Working closely with the bakery and kitchen teams
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and food safety
  • Monitoring stock levels and placing front of house orders
  • Handling customer feedback professionally and positively
  • Helping drive sales while creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere
