Duty Manager – Joel’s Restaurant

Full-Time | Joel’s Restaurant, Dublin

Joel’s Restaurant is seeking an experienced and driven Duty Manager to support the daily operation of one of Dublin’s busiest, high-volume restaurants.

This is a hands-on, floor-based role where you will lead the team during service, drive standards, and ensure every guest has a seamless and enjoyable experience.

The Role

As Duty Manager, you will take ownership of the restaurant floor during your shift, ensuring smooth service, strong team performance, and excellent guest engagement.

You will work closely with senior management, kitchen, and bar teams to deliver consistent standards across all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Service

  • Lead the restaurant floor during service, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation at all times.
  • Support the coordination of large bookings, busy service periods, and peak trading.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and support Front of House staff, ensuring strong performance and teamwork.
  • Lead by example during service, setting the pace and standards.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and real-time feedback to staff.

Guest Experience

  • Act as the main point of contact for guest queries, complaints, and service recovery.
  • Ensure all guests receive a warm, professional, and efficient experience.
  • Manage service flow and respond quickly to any issues during busy periods.

Commercial Awareness

  • Support the delivery of key KPIs including covers, average spend, and labour control.
  • Drive upselling and maximise revenue opportunities during service.

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure full compliance with HACCP, allergen procedures, health & safety, and licensing laws.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure all company policies and procedures are followed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Duty Manager or Supervisor in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams during busy service.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Confident decision-maker who performs well under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of food service, guest flow, and restaurant operations.
