Full job description

We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of a well-established restaurant. The successful candidate will ensure smooth service, strong team performance, cost control, and consistently high customer satisfaction.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for people, processes, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations

  • Oversee front-of-house and back-of-house operations
  • Ensure smooth service during all shifts
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and food quality

People Management

  • Recruit, train, and develop restaurant staff
  • Create and manage staff rotas
  • Monitor attendance, performance, and discipline
  • Lead by example on the floor

Financial & Performance Control

  • Control labour costs and staffing efficiency
  • Monitor sales, costs, and margins
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, and waste reduction
  • Support budgeting and weekly reporting

Customer Experience

  • Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally
  • Build a strong service culture
  • Ensure consistent brand standards

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and employment legislation
  • Maintain hygiene, safety, and operational records
  • Liaise with suppliers and service providers

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager / Operations Manager or assistant manager
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills
  • Proven experience with rotas, labour control, and stock management
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Knowledge of Irish hospitality regulations (advantage)
